Booking & Payment Process

This page explains how bookings and payments work when using Need A Witness UK. Our process is designed to be simple, secure, and fully transparent for all couples.

1. Submit a Booking Request

Complete our online booking form with your ceremony details. This creates a booking request, not a confirmed booking.

2. We Review Your Request

We check witness availability for your:

If we can cover your ceremony, we will approve your request.

3. Pay the Non‑Refundable Booking Fee

Once approved, we will send you a secure payment link (Monzo/Stripe). The booking fee amount depends on the day of your ceremony:

This fee secures your date and covers administration and allocation. It is non‑refundable.

4. Booking Confirmation

Your booking is officially confirmed once the booking fee has been paid.

5. Remaining Balance

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 48 hours before the ceremony.

6. Witness Attendance

Once fully paid, your allocated witness (or witnesses) will attend your ceremony at the agreed time and location.

7. Payment to Witnesses

Witnesses are paid by us after the ceremony. All witnesses are independent self‑employed contractors.

8. Pricing Transparency

We operate Monday to Saturday at our standard rates. Sunday ceremonies include a premium surcharge, and UK Bank Holidays are charged at double the standard rate. Deposits and final balances are adjusted accordingly.
